I am happy to report that my students seem to love the classroom library! This makes me beyond happy. I really worked on it this summer after attending a seminar by Debbie Diller who is a leading author in literacy. One thing that stuck with me was her rule that a classroom library is a must, no matter what grade, and it should be a focal point in your classroom. I refurbished the bench and made the crate seats and they are a hit! Pinterest for the WIN :) We also had our first successful science experiment this week. Truth be told after about 20 minutes I was not sure how successful our 'circuit experiment' was going to be, but the kids worked and worked and BAM! There was light! I especially love the 'Thinker' pose some of the kids had while working on the experiment. You should have heard the roar of cheers and commotion when 1 group finally got the light to work. Shortly after 2 more groups lit up. It was definitely the hi-LIGHT of my week...ok I'll stop. We sent out our first "Tweets" this week. Gotta love one of my kiddos philosophical response to what their favorite part of the class has been so far..."Am I Thomas Edison?" lol. These kids crack me up!
